About

Born in the Thar. Raised with Camels.

A LIFE LIVED IN THE THAR

I was born in a small village in the Thar Desert, where camels were part of everyday life. My father had camels, and from the time I was a child, I grew up around them, around travellers and around the people and stories of the desert.

For my family, the Thar was never just a place to visit. It was home. I learned its routes, its villages, its changing seasons and the simple rhythm of desert life by living it myself.

Over the years, what began as a family way of life became a way of welcoming travellers into our world. Today, I get to share the same desert that I grew up in with people coming from all over the world.

When you join us for a camel safari in Jaisalmer, I don’t want you to only see the Thar Desert. I want you to experience a little part of the life I have known since childhood.

LOVED BY TRAVELLERS, REMEMBERED FOR A LIFETIME

The best part of welcoming travellers into the Thar is hearing what they remember after the safari.Over the years, we have welcomed travellers from 50+ countries, from couples and friends to small groups who came to Jaisalmer looking for something different. Many arrive as strangers to us. By the time the safari ends, we have shared meals, stories, laughter, sunsets and sometimes a little more of our lives than we expected.

Our guests have shared their experiences through 5-star reviews on Tripadvisor and Google. Some remember the silence of the dunes, some remember the food cooked over the fire, some remember the stories around the campfire, and many remember the people they met along the way.

We can tell you about our camel safari in Jaisalmer, but we’d rather let the people who travelled with us tell you what they experienced.

SOME OF THE BEST MEMORIES DON'T HAPPEN ON THE CAMEL

A camel can take you into the desert, but it is often what happens after the ride that stays with you. When the sun goes down and we sit around the fire, there is time to talk. We share stories from the desert, old local tales, funny moments, memories and sometimes a few stories that are better heard under the stars than anywhere else.

Then there is the food. Nothing complicated — just fresh vegetarian food prepared over an open fire, the way we have enjoyed it in the desert for generations. Dal, rice, sabji and chapati, cooked slowly and shared under the open sky. These are the moments we love most: a good meal, a good story, a few laughs and nowhere else you need to be.

You may come to Jaisalmer for a camel safari. You may leave remembering the dinner.

CRAFTED BY GENERATIONS. SHAPED BY 30+ YEARS.

There is a reason our safaris are not simply picked from a menu.

Our experiences are shaped by generations of living in the Thar and more than 30 years of working with travellers. We understand how the desert changes with the seasons, weather, landscape and even the time of day. Where we go, which route we take, where we stop for sunset and how we plan the experience all depend on these things.

We work with people we know and trust — camel owners, cooks and local team members who help us look after our guests. Together, we take care of the many small details that make a desert journey comfortable, safe and enjoyable.

Every safari is thoughtfully planned around the desert and the people travelling with us. Sometimes that means finding a quiet stretch of dunes. Sometimes it means taking a different route because of the season. Sometimes it is simply knowing when to stop, sit down and let the desert speak for itself.

Generations have taught us the desert. More than 30 years of experience have taught us how to share it.

COME AS A TRAVELLER. LEAVE AS FAMILY.

You Arrive as Our Guest. You Leave With a Story.

For us, hospitality is not about simply taking you through an itinerary. It is about welcoming you into our world and making you feel comfortable from the moment you contact us.

You can speak directly with Fatan about your plans, your questions and the kind of experience you are looking for. Once you arrive, our team takes care of the details while you enjoy the desert.

We love sitting with our guests, sharing stories, making them laugh, sharing a meal around the fire and making sure they are comfortable when the desert night gets cold. These small things are a big part of what we believe a good safari should be.

We don’t want you to leave Jaisalmer feeling like you simply completed another tour. We want you to leave with stories, memories and a connection to the people who welcomed you into their desert home.

Come as a traveller. Leave as family.
