I did quite a bit of research because I wanted to avoid the large tourist camps and have something that felt genuine. We rode into the desert, watched the sunset, had an excellent dinner cooked over the fire and slept on comfortable cots under a great sky. Nothing felt rushed or scripted.
Booked the two-night camel desert trip with Fatan, led by Shambu. All the food was super delicious and home-cooked on a fire. Camping on the dunes, watching the stars, no huge camp and lots of time with the beautiful camels. I highly recommend it.
The overnight camel safari was the absolute highlight of our trip. Waking up to watch the moon set and then the sunrise is something I’ll never forget. We went as a small private group, slept under the stars and enjoyed tasty, plentiful food with a knowledgeable local team.

A trusted person in charge, a long camel ride both ways and small groups of three to seven people. I had a real solitude desert experience and slept separately on top of a dune. Firewood dinner and breakfast were included.
Sleeping beneath the stars was amazing. Riding a camel and seeing animals in nature was unforgettable. The tour was perfectly organised from pickup to the ride, delicious food, proper beds and warm blankets. The owner was exceptionally kind and helpful.
